WHERE TO BUY ART ONLINE THAT SPEAKS TO YOU

I’ve been dipping my toes back into Pinterest recently and have been playing around with idea pins. They are the stories/reels of Pinterest and when I saw one of my favourite bloggers add a video highlighting a collection of her own, I immediately thought well I don’t collect anything. Then I gave myself a good shake because I definitely collect solid marble vintage coffee tables, vintage mugs and vintage vases that straddle the line of ugly/funky. But the other thing that I have many of - art with women in it.
I can picture my first and only layaway purchase of my entire life - I headed into Koyman galleries in Bayshore (I worked in that mall for years as a teen) and put down a deposit on a painting of a girl on a beach wearing a red dress. And while I do still have that painting, I actually can’t tolerate being around the colour red so it is leaning against the wall in our basement at present.
But the theme - well it stuck around. And to be honest, one of my favourite things to source for clients is art. Not the boring super affordable everybody has it kind of art, but the art that is going to speak to them on a soul level.
So today I’m sharing some of my favourite artists, photographers and shops to source art from - many of whom I’ve purchased from myself.
